It's Dog Or Nothing - Living Large. Living Fluffy.
After over two weeks… we’re back!
The wedding went really well and you better believe I will be bombarding you with pictures once we get them. The fluffies were the stars of the wedding and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Even though Mauja and Atka are trips pros, they still get stressed when they are away from their home base. However, they exhibit their stress in very different ways.
Mauja becomes extremely clingy. She prefers to be by our sides and is always looking for extra cuddles. She even gets the idea that she’s a tiny dog and sleeps on top of us at night (and of course we sleep poorly because we never want to move her!). If we leave her when she’s stressed, she likes to cuddle up on our bed where our scent is strongest and snooze until we get back. She continues this pattern for the first few days that we are home.
Atka handles his stress a bit differently. Atka becomes clingy, but he doesn’t need to be right next to us. He’s content to watch us from across the room to ensure we don’t go anywhere without him. Leaving Atka is a completely different story. Rather than snuggling up for a nap, he chews through his stress. Literally. This behavior continues for a few days after we return home.
Exhibit A:
No more heating pad or phone charger.
Exhibit B:
I heard crunching in the next room. Apparently a Wii game was the chew toy of choice.
Exhibit C:
Some evening sock shredding.
Exhibit D:
Stealing the stocking I needed for a photo shoot.
