It's Dog Or Nothing - fur, slobber, and dirty floors
I love all dogs, but I definitely have a soft spot for giant breeds. I grew up with a German Shepherd/Collie mix and two Samoyeds, so I never really knew what a “giant breed” was. My mom had been researching breeds for years, so when it was time to add another family member she knew which breed she wanted to get.
The Bernese Mountain Dog.
I didn’t know much about the berner other than that they are absolutely striking. I’ll always be partial to the pyr look, but who couldn’t love the look of a berner?! Not only are they beautiful, but they are incredibly sweet and willing to please. I forgot how nice it is to have a dog that just wants to please you! Pyrs certainly are not like that
The Bernese Mountain Dog can be a wonderful addition to many families! Before you get caught up in their beauty, remember that a full grown berner can easily top 100 pounds. That means more expensive vet, food, toy, and medication bills. In my opinion, the extra cost is completely worth owning a giant breed. More love to give! If socialized properly, berners are great with kids, dogs, and small animals. They love to please their people and are incredibly sweet.
I mean, come on. Isn’t he adorable??
Are you interested in adopting a Bernese Mountain Dog? How about this love?
