I met Solei’s owner a month or two ago at Petco. I was shocked to see another person with a pyr so of course I had to say hi!
After a bit of chatting, I discovered that she runs her own small rescue. She takes in pyrs in need in the area and currently has three! I’m a bit jealous.Want to take a guess at how old Solei is? Go ahead, look at her picture. I’ll wait.

11! Can you believe that? She looks wonderful for 11. It is obvious that she is loved. She didn’t have the best start to life, but she is living the good life now.
On Saturday, we decided to get together and take the pyrs on a shopping trip. We stood outside with Mauja, Atka, and Solei trying to get a few good pictures. I’m sure you can imagine the amount of looks we got.
As we were heading inside, I noticed a big, white dog sitting in a car. Just as I exclaimed, “holy crap is that another pyr?!”, a man came rushing out the door. The dog was his and he wanted to join in on the pyr fun. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get any pictures with all four dogs. There was just too much excitement going on!
Atka was a typical excited puppy, but Bo was quick to remind Atka that he was the elder. Bo has some stunning markings as well!
Finally, we went into the store to do some shopping. The fluffies became the ‘welcoming committee’ and took charge of greeting all the customers. They each received treats galore and more love than they knew what to do with.
Surprisingly, three pyrs in a tiny store stayed out of mischief! Atka may have tried to steal a snack from the ‘treat bar’, but his attempt was foiled. Well, there’s also the possibility that we blocked off an aisle or two, but they can’t help how big they are!
