It's Dog Or Nothing - fur, slobber, and dirty floors
If you have missed the pictures and videos of the terrible shelter in Magnolia, Arkansas, consider yourself lucky.
I prefer to not see pictures of dogs in deplorable conditions or view videos of animal abuse. I understand that people post these images to raise awareness and prompt a call to action, but I’d rather not see them.
Because I feel this way, I will add links to this post so you may investigate further if you like.59 dogs were recently pulled from a shelter in Magnolia, Arkansas by Big Fluffy Dog Rescue. A video was sent to the rescue about the horrid conditions these dogs were in and they knew they needed to take action. The biggest surprise to Big Fluffy? The dogs were in a government-run shelter.
It’s a huge stretch to call the facility a shelter. The dogs are in chain-link pens with a metal roof over their heads and a concrete floor beneath their paws. No walls. No air conditioning. No heat. No medical attention.
The vets who are currently treating the dogs found that all were sick and suffering from sarcoptic mange. Most of the dogs were injured from fighting over the limited resources available to them. If their physical condition is that bad, can you even imagine what their mental condition is like?
59 is a huge number of dogs to take in at once. The rescue is doing their best to make it work, but if you can help in any way, I know they would greatly appreciate it.
